Will The Real FIFA 12 Philippine "Azkals" Please Stand Up!

Please stand up, please stand up!
The Philippine National Football Team can be a sensitive topic. There is the line that separates Football Fans and The National Team's fans. Love them or hate them, they represent the Nation and Country I live in.
Fifa 12 has been released for more than a week now. Our humble local (and international) group of Filipino Fifa players are still adjusting to the new changes. Unfortunately, there are also many who are already mercilessly dominating. In a country dominated by basketball or the "NBA 2k12" video game, the positive we have seen is an increase of Fifa 12 Players.
The recent topic a few have been talking about is if there is a Philippines or "Azkals" team in Fifa 12. Yes, thru the game's Creation Centre. Around 20 of them.
As a football fan and Fifa 12 player, with help from fellow colleagues, and to hopefully avoid sensitive topics and criticism, I present The Philippine "Azkals" National Football Team.

Another version any hardcore Philippine "Azkals" National Football Team fan would appreciate is the "true to life", 24/7 updated squads, creation of kanoy09. From the official National Team to the Under-23 and 21 squad, name it, he has it.

No Real Offer

Catching the first leg on the Saturday replay, it was obvious Messi
beat Real Madrid. On tonights meeting, Real Madrid beat up Messi.
Real Madrid's performance was unfortunate. Their passing, felt stuck
up. It was a team obvious of lack in chemistry. Lassana isn't the
Lassana Diara i applauded for before. Ronaldo pushed in the beginning
but could only push so far. Real's latest signings Kaka and Higuain
were hopefuls. Carvalho and Albiol were on a different flight.
Casillas was the only one exerting and stretching his efforts. Marcelo
played with desire.
Madrid pressed early on in the match but changed it's pace soon
enough. Higuain was rusty and could not meet Cristiano Ronaldo's
demands. Xavi Alonso wasn’t there. It was an empty first half.
Barcelona played well tonight. Comfort, familiarity and vision was
most evident in their passing. Iniesta's pass which Pedro completed
had Real's defense watching. Messi's presence on the ball was also
feared by Real's defense. Messi took a beating, or is this always?
Mascherano on the other hand was nominated, but failed to win the award.
Di Maria's shaky attempt was recovered by his assist to Marcelo. But a
sparky come back was not ignited.
Welcome back Eric Abidal! You are an inspiration.
Arsenal Hosts Manchester United

Arsenal hosts Manchester United
18 minutes have gone and Arsenal have possesion. Wilshere scuba diving.
And Arsenal continues to deliver beautiful football. Fabio with a scare.
The better twin.
Good job by the ref blocking the pass. Commentator says, "he didn't
even look at the ball."
Sir Alex is complaining calls are not going their way, handball on
Vidic is suggested. Overlooked by our referee. Wilshere minutes ago
pulled Carrick's leg as they both went up. Whistle from the ref
without punishment. Wilshere is slowly becoming the naughty boy of
Arsenal. Ramsey for Fabregas??! Anytime!!!
Manchester United seems tired. Arsenal had all week to rest and have
nothing to lose tonight. Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal?? Is the
stupidest idea "supporters" are calling for.
The ref makes a second touch on the ball tonight!!! Has failed to call
the handball a while ago!! And again disrupts Arsenal's run! Halftime.
Rooney's freekick gives a scare in the second half. That sound, after
the freekick was struck, sounded like the black toy Armalites when we
were younger. 52 mins. Ramsey had a chance and he knew it.
Manchester United a while ago were on the break. Arsenal again shaky
on defense. Nani throws a cross in the middle, Hernandez inches away
from heading it in!
AARON RAMSEY!!!!! ASSIST FROM CAPITAN ROBIN VAN PERSIE!!!! 56th
minute!!! Do not count Manchester out.
30 minutes left and heartbeats!!! Song makes a tackle and soon finds
he is in between 4 United players. The adrenalin! Minute by minute!!!
63. 64.
66 minutes and Evra asks for a penalty. Corner and the machine gun is
there again. Djourou is down. 67. As the replay suggests, it was a
looong 1-2 from Ramsey and Van Persie. Good for Ramsey to put up his
hands and ask for the ball from RVP. Squilacci replaces Djourou.
70 minutes gone and i feel exhaustion. 72 minutes and Van der Sar
plays it from outside the box. Passes it back to him and he cooly
passes back. I remember him at Fulham playing like this. Reyes? I
believe charged at him and scored. Not so cool. Berbatov for
Hernandez. And that Armalite is there again.
Rooney and his team were on a scare. Squilacci again. Szcesny saves!!!
Counter Arsenal and United defends. Van der Sar is there again playing
with the ball COOLY. Eboue for Walcott 78 mins.
80 minutes and the adrenalin starts pumping back. The shivers are
here, and the heartbeat, the heartbeats!!!
Arsenal on the break! Arshavin!!?? Van der Sar plays it COOLY again!
Do it again Edwin!!! 82 mins, Arshavin fouled by Fabio. The crowd is
roaring up! 83 minutes! Freekick... Good save from the Dutchman. My
throat hurts. 84 minutes, Owen for Carrick.
Arsenal has intercepted most of United's passing. Now Arshavin
tackles, Arsenal on the break. Cmon Arshavin catch it. 86 minutes and
hanging on.
87 mins and Owen drops in the box. Stomped on as seen on the replay. No
penalty. 87:51!!!! Sit down Sir Alex!! Again Arsenal with a chance!!!
Now its Szcesny who plays it cool. Teasing!!
89:22!!!!! Valencia cross!!! Armalite!!! Trarararara. Szcesny is
there! 90:16 with 4 minutes added time. I am speechless. The
game is not yet over and i cannot believe this. The roars are loud but not loud
enough. 91:45. Valencia continues to break on the right. 92:24!!!!!
Arsene looks at his watch. Sir Alex is standing up. 93:04 and Ramsey
gives away a freekick. Blocked! and cheers from the crowd. Still not
loud enough. 93:57. 94:11. The whistle is blown.
Chelsea is the biggest surprise. The crowd chants with pride. Aaron
Ramsey is the man. Manchester United is still Manchester United.
Arsenal performed.
Bolton hosts Arsenal
by takussa ; Fairly Biassed
I catch the game 12 minutes in and what a smother packing tackle from
Kevin Davies on Song. After 40 "tap-outs" from my masseuse, i am
floating. Sturridge is the man to keep an eye on from Bolton. You'll
see why. Taylor of Bolton again with a "Super Smash Brothers" tackle.
Yellow card.

Arsenal Draws Liverpool
After a minute of silence for Danny F, the whistle blows. Will be breathless and screaming for at least the first 45 minutes. Wth is this ESPNSTAR survey bs at the bottom of the screen. I'm getting bored 3 minutes in. A sense of pessimism has been the habit. I think WE Arsenal fans are tired. Eboue's run had me screaming all of a sudden. 4 minutes.
Manchester United 2 vs. Chelsea 1 (2nd Leg UCL)–The One Where Carlo Ancelloti is in trouble with the Roman Empire
Like the first leg, this game was thrilling from end to end. Chelsea was looking for the win as they gambled with Fernando Torres starting over the lethal Didier Drogba. The game turned exciting late when Chelsea scored an equalizer and just needed one more goal to advance to the semi final, but they were caught with their pants down as Manchester United was back in the lead a minute after.
Shakhtar 0 vs. Barcelona 1 (2nd Leg UCL)–The One Where Barcelona Was All Business
The second game was much closer compared to the first leg as Shakhtar pressured Barcelona’s defense. It was a gutsy performance by the Ukrainian side but alas, in the end, it was still a Barcelona victory

Arsenal, So so...

Thanks to Arsenal's Facebook Page update, i was reminded of the game.
Thanks to ESPN for airing it on tv, i was just in time seconds after
the second half kick-off. 2-0 was the score, and I honestly wasn't
counting on for more goals. Instead, i was waiting for the minutes until the
final whistle. If Arsenal was capable of giving up a 4-0 lead before,
why not a 2-0 lead. Forgive my skepticism but that is the Arsenal that
WE have.
Udinese 1 vs. As Roma 2 (Serie A)–The One Where Totti and His Signature move, ‘Er Cucchiaio’, kept the Lupi Rolling.

The Filipino Striker

Did you know that the first ever Asian footballer to play for a European club was a Filipino? Paulino Alcántara y Riestrá (7 October 1896—13 February 1964) was a Spanish-Filipino football player and manager who spent most of his life playing for Barcelona. He also played for Catalonia, the Philippines, and Spain.
Born in the Philippines to a Spanish military officer and an Ilongga mother, Alcántara moved to Spain to play for FC Galeno before he was discovered by Joan Gamper and signed up for Barcelona. At the tender age of 15, he made his debut against Catalá SC in the Campionat de Catalunya (Catalan Football Championship), in which Barcelona won 9–0, with Alcántara scoring the first three goals of the game. He remains the youngest player to play or score for the club and the club's highest goalscorer, with 357 goals in 357 matches.

His nickname was ‘El Romperedes’, which can be translated as “The Netbreaker.” Paulino Alcántara is the all-time leading scorer of FC Barcelona, but he is perhaps best known for a legendary moment he created with his right foot while playing for the Spanish national team. It was April 30, 1922. The opponent was France. Alcántara struck the ball from 30 yards away from goal. For a man who scored 357 goals in 357 appearances for Barca, the fact that the ball made it past the French keeper should come as no shock. What made the moment so transcendent was that Alcántara struck the ball so hard it broke through the back of the net. It was a display of power that children in Spain would attempt for years to replicate while playing with their friends.
Maybe even more remarkable than that made-for-cinema moment against France is where Alcántara came from. The Philippines is a country that today has a sporting landscape dominated by the NBA and boxing, owing to Filipino living legend Manny Pacquiao. The national team is ranked 169th in the world by FIFA and football has simply never been on the radar of most Filipinos. But this is the country that gave the world Paulino Alcántara, the first player to ever come from Asia and find a place on a European football club’s roster. Despite being largely unknown in his home country, he is well remembered by the football-loving minority there, as he is in Spain. A statue of him stands outside the Philippine Football Federation offices. Having a Spanish father stationed in the Philippines allowed him to come to Catalunya in 1910 to further his education. Soon after, he was discovered by Barca’s founder, Joan Gamper, while playing for FC Galeno. Making his debut for Barca in 1912, he scored the first three goals in a 9-0 win. Amazingly, he was just 15 years old at the time. Regardless of the difference in eras, that is an absolutely astounding feat. A year after his debut, the club won the Chapionat de Catalunya and the Copa del Rey, which was considered the Spanish championship at that time.

After hanging up his boots in 1927 at the age of 31, Alcántara became a doctor. And on 5 July 1927, Barcelona played against Spain in a testimonial match in his honour. Although already retired from playing, Alcántara later returned to the stadium as a club director between 1931 and 1934. In 1951, Alcántara became a selector and managed Spain for three games. Alcántara died in Barcelona in 1964 at age 67.
Player Preview– Alexis “El Niño Maravilla” Sanchez–The Next Superstar
Arsenal Against West Brom
WHAT THE HECK!!! Plenty of possession and acquaintance with the crossbar
are the usual factors that make a good Arsenal heartbreak story.
Wilshere, who can't take control of the ball, throws a B.F. on West
Brom's defender Mulumbu by pushing him towards the stands. The ref
First time i saw Sagna's new hair strut. Not so bad in my opinion.
53 minutes in and West Brom are on the counter! Brunt misses from a
beautiful through pass from the wings to the middle. Heartbeats!!

The game is now picking up. The yellow kits of Arsenal fill West
Brom's box. Oh the misses!! And i am swearing. Bendtner is given another
chance to prove himself... Ramsey goes off applauded.
Odemwingie scores. Almunia is lost. Squillaci is Squillaci. Jens
Lehmann looks in disbelief. Odemwingie continues to cause trouble
making Koscielny lose his temper and commit a yellow "cardish" tackle.

30 minutes left in the game to hope for the best. Another hope is that
Manchester United loses or draws to Bolton.
Captain Robin Van Persie makes a terrible free kick in the 66th
minute. 24 minutes left before i watch "The Insider"
FACKING A!!!!!! ARSHAVIN IS BACK!!!!! LEFT FOOT SMASH!!!! A beautiful
first touch sets up a super smash! Crediting West Brom being organized
at the back, that shot was above all. Definite goal of the week. 19
minutes left!

13 minutes left and Arsenal keep pushing while West Brom keeps
shocking the counter.
YES!!!! YES!!!! Arshavin with a cross to Bendtner, mishandled for Van
Persie to reach out and score the Equalizer!!!! And the crowd chants ARSHAVIN
ARSHAVIN ARSHAVIN!!!
10 mins left! Fortune runs in the box with a scare! Squillaci salvages
a shot! Corner and Almunia saves another heartbeat!
7 mins!!!
6 mins!! Clichy charges in the box! Still!!
Oooo to be to be a gooner.
4 mins. has Arsenal settled for a draw after that exhausting come back?
Still a concern how West Brom dribbles around Arsenal defenders
easily. And Squillaci nervously defends well. 2mins!! Come on Arsenal!!!
4 minutes stoppage time is added.
2 minutes left, Jack Wilshere with a decent crying effort. Corner
Arsenal. PRESS PRESS!!!! Cry for Handball!! Sagna is tripped in the
box!!! Corner!! Missed!! Whistle is blown!!
Another test for Arsenal, another test for the fans. If losing makes
me a stronger Gunner how much more winning. Final score 2-2.
Manchester United beats Bolton. Arsenal are 5 points behind with a
game in hand.
Uefa Champion’s League Quarter Final draws and Predictions

Manchester City 1 vs. Dynamo Kyiv 0 (2nd Leg Europa League)–The One Where Balotelli Was Just a Big Mistake
Got To Be Real
On the other side you could sense Real scoring a goal soon. Marcelo made the break on the 38 minute with an excellent 1-2 with CR9. Their suave partnership created a cool scoring finish for Marcelo.

Lyon brought in Gomis in the second half to help chase the 2 goals they needed. But his presence wasn't enough to help Lyon's cause.
Benzema scored Real's second goal of the night securing his team a place in the next round.
Ten minutes later and Di Maria adds another to the scoreline sealing the victory for his team.
Both my teams are out. Inter Milan winning would be nice for the history of the tournament. I'd also like Tottenham, Schalke or Shakhtar to progress further. No more staying up late to catch these games live.
Bayern Munich 2 vs. Inter Milan 3 (2nd Leg UCL)–The One Where Eto’o destroyed Bayern Munich

Manchester United 2 vs. Marseille 1 (UCL 2nd Leg)–The One Where Chicharito is still ON FIRE!!
Mongolia 2 vs. Philippines 1 (AFC Challenge Cup) - The One Where The Azkals really prove that they are not an offensive team.
The Philippine National Team lost to Mongolia with a score of 2-1 but got to the next group stage by winning through aggregate. The Philippine team look uncoordinated in their attack in the first half but was able to surprise the host on the 3rd minute with a scrappy goal. But with different factors and also some defensive lapse, the Azkals found themselves trailing after halftime to the Blue Wolves and eventually losing the game.
The Azkals fielded a (4-4-1-1) formation with Araneta on top and supported by J. Younghusband. During the first half, the Azkals tried going to the offensive by using wing play and filling up the penalty box with bodies. Instead of using wingers, the offense was dependent with the runs of the wing back, and having no holding midfielders, the team was prone for counter attacks. Even though they were in the offensive, they only produced 1 goal and a few chances and also gave the Mongolians more quality chances at their goal. The Azkals players look lost with their offense as their were tons of players running and seem to be out of position.
Roma 2 vs. Lazio 0 (Serie A)–The One Where Francesco Totti is still the KING OF ROME
Sevilla 1 vs. Barcelona 1 (La Liga)–The One Where Barcelona Dropped Points
Arsenal 0 vs Man U 2
The players are in the tunnel. I feel like RVP is going to do a tear (tare) tonight. Also, I nominate RVP as team captain of Arsenal. Manu will be starting Hernandez, while Arsenal have Denilson as their bet. Lets see who plays their cards better tonight. I Feel these two will be factors for tonight.
Crack, pop, fizz, gotta get buzzed for this for two reasons. If it is boring I get to doze off in style, if it’s a ‘KRAKER’ we have a reason to shout on a Saturday night.
3/13/2011 1:27:11 AM
What happened was, my first match to blog and I fell asleep. Yes on the 28th minute, I was on the couch watching and ended up dozing off. Woke up to commercials hoping it was halftime, sadly, highlights came with a score line of 2-0. Reached for the remote and turned off the T.V. Saw that the laptop was on and had to stretch again to shut it down.
Anyway I decided to finish what I started, even if it is incomplete etc, even if I did not get to finish it, even if I am an Arsenal fan. Does better late than never apply this time?
Is this trying your best??
Player Preview–Takayuki Morimoto~Japan’s next Golden Boy
The closest thing that the national team ever produced in the striker spot would be Kazuyoshi Miura, as he had 55 goals in 89 appearances but as great as it seems, it was considered a padded record as most of the countries he faced were never first class competition. As a matter of fact, his scoring rate outside Japan is a huge disappointment as is less than 0.30 which is way below the world average for a forward.
Enter, Takayuki Morimoto.
