I first saw Welliton two years ago when I was watching a CSKA Moscow game, they were against Spartak Moscow, I was checking out Keisuke Honda’s club form but all I saw is a little Brazilian playing for Spartak Moscow causing problems in front of CSKA Moscow's goal, his name is simply Welliton. The young Brazilian is a freak of nature especially for his height, his strength is uncanny as he can easily push defenders around and keep possession of the ball. His burst speed is one of the best I have ever seen, and his jumping ability is excellent as he can easily rise above 6’2 defenders, reminds me of Ivan Cordoba’s jumping ability.



But one thing I’m truly impressed is his football IQ, as he always find position for scoring chances and rebounds. He is a true poacher and its no surprise that he led the Russian league in goals for 2 straight seasons. His team plays him in a lone striker position, but with his amazing talent, scoring goals and creating chances seems to be no problem to him. One of his career highlight is scoring a hat trick in 6 minutes, the faster in Spartak history and also scoring two consecutive hat tricks.



He haven’t been called up for the national team of Brazil but soon enough he will make his name in Europe. He has drawn up interests from Liverpool and Tottenham.
