*sorry for the late post again, There were no Internet the whole weekend at my place, so I wasn’t able to watch any Serie A matches and I will not be able to create an analysis of the Milan Derby, but fear not, champion’s league is around the corner, I’ll try my best again to watch and analyze it and hopes that the internet doesn’t fuck with me
If you are following the Bundelisga, you may already know that Dortmund is leading the pack with a rather huge lead. One of the reason of this huge lead is Dortmund’s stellar defense, a defense that is led by Neven Subotic. I wasn’t really aware of Subotic prior this season, the only thing I knew about him is that he plays for Serbia along with Vidic and wasn’t that very good as he had a bad world cup, but all that changed, when I saw him play against Bayern Munich this season.
He was a class of his own, his Ariel presence were felt during spot kicks as he was able to find space and take a shot time after time,in fact he is known for his scoring that his defending among casual fans, but what I was truly impressed was his speed and ability to read his marking. As he was able to shut down Mario Gomez using his speed and strength. Using his 6’4 Height, he reminds me of Jaap Stam minus the intimidation and looks and the tackling ability, but his ability to read the flow of the game is similar to Jaap and he tends to find himself at the right position at the right time. He is already considered as one of the best defenders in Budesliga right now and he is just 22 years old.
Subotic is young, but his potential is scary, with proper coaching he can easily be better that his compatriot, Vidic. He has already drawn a lot of interests, from Bayern Munich, Roma,Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea.
