Real Madrid
Key Player(s) : Higuain, Kaka , Christiano Ronaldo
The 2nd coming of the Galaticos have been firing in all cylinders to lead the league after the first half of the season. With the scoring evenly distributed among its forwards, stopping Real's 4-3-3 formation have been a nightmare to the opposing Back four, as the constant attacks from every direction has resulted to
15 goals in 10 games. But Real failed to extended its lead with key losses to Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich
Key Player(s) : Muller, Schweinsteiger
The boys from Munich have been in cruise control from the start, Thomas Muller playing behind Miroslav Klose has been hot of late with 6 goals in 10 matches. Bayern Munich's surgical precision passing have caused problems with teams using a high pressure defense, as it was perfectly shown against Real as Bayern picked apart and destroyed Real's defense. A poor performance against Barcelona resulted to Bayern being only third in the League.
FC Barcelona
Key Player(s): David Villa, Xavi, Messi
David Villa is proving that he can carry the scoring load with 4 of Barcelona's 9 goals. Barcelona hasn't yet found their form that made them La Liga Champs with only 1 win out of 10 games and their defense have been shaky with 14 goals allowed. With no Ariel Treat, Opposing defenses are finding it easy to stop the Catelan's Offense that revolves around short passing and through passes as the Catalan giants are dead last in the league in goals scored. Will we see a formation change by the manager for the 2nd half of the season to help his club get into the right track?
Chelsea
Key Player(s) : Drogba, Malouda, Anelka
The Tri-headed attack of Drogba, Malouda and Anelka have caused chaos among the opposing defense resulting into 12 goals in 6 Games. The London Side have performed very well against Barcelona and Manchester City, thrashing them and basically dominating the whole match but the same team was nowhere to be found when they faced Real Madrid, losing 2 games against the Galaticos. With so many games yet to play, Chelsea seems to be an early favorite for the championship.
Manchester City
Key Player(s): Tevez
Manchester City's offensive strategy in throwing the ball to Tevez and letting him run wild seems to have its own pro and con. The pro is that the Argentinian Bulldog is responsible in 13 of the 14 goals City have scored. The con is that the offense is becoming predictable and with half of a season yet to play, Opposing Managers are already preparing to counter this offense. City's Defense have been awful all season, allowing a league worst, 17 Goals. With a strong showing against Real in their last game, a question arises, is this the start of change for the better for the boys from Manchester?
AS Roma
Key Player(s): Adriano, Vucinic, Menez
Roma have been finding the back of the net with ease, with a league best of 16 goals in 8 games. With the help of Menez and Vucinic causing trouble on the left side, the former Emperor (Adriano) has scored a league best of 13 goals in 8 games. Even with a strong showing in their offense, the Manager has been furious with his players for lack of consistency which has resulted to the team only registering one back to back win. Will a consistent Roma side appear on the 2nd half of the season?
